Returns Policy
We want every order to be something you're happy with. Here's how we handle returns.
Effective Date: 9 April 2026
Our Promise to You
All our products are covered by this Returns Policy. We're committed to making things right if something isn't up to scratch — your satisfaction matters to us. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) always apply, and nothing in this policy limits those rights.
Faulty, Damaged or Defective Products
If a product you've received is faulty, damaged, inedible, or defective, we're sorry — and we want to fix it. Depending on the situation, we'll offer you:
- A full refund to your original payment method
- An exchange for the same or a similar product
- A store credit
To make a claim, please contact us within 24 hours of receiving your order. Our team will guide you through the process and let you know whether we need the item returned.
Tip: A quick photo of the affected product goes a long way in helping us resolve your claim faster.
Do I Need to Return the Item?
In many cases, you won't need to send anything back — we'll assess your claim based on the information and photos you provide. If we do need the item returned, our team will let you know. Please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed.
Changed Your Mind?
We understand that sometimes you might have a change of heart. Here's what we can and can't do:
Dry Grocery Items
If you've changed your mind on a dry grocery item, we'll happily offer a refund or exchange, provided:
- The product is returned within 24 hours of purchase
- It's unopened and in its original packaging
- You have a valid proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation)
Fresh produce & Eggs
Unfortunately, we're unable to offer change-of-mind refunds or exchanges on fresh produce items. Once fresh fruit and vegetables leave us, we have no way of knowing how they've been handled or stored — and the quality and safety of the product is our top priority. We encourage you to double-check your order before accepting the order, especially for fresh produce.
Proof of Purchase
To process any return or exchange, we'll need proof of purchase — such as your order confirmation email or receipt. Without this, The Community Basket reserves the right to decline a refund or exchange. If you're not sure where to find your proof of purchase, check your email inbox for your order confirmation, or log into your account on our website.
How to Make a Claim
Making a return or refund request is straightforward:
- Contact us within 24 hours of receiving your order
- Let us know your order number and what the issue is
- Attach a photo of the product where possible
- Our team will respond promptly and guide you through the next steps
